Hotel Behl  Hotel Behl Hotel Behl

Received as guests, leave as friends…
that is our philosophy

Our house, which was built in various eras, offers several attractive features with half-timbered construction, sandstone and the modern annex being the most exceptional characteristics.
The restaurant was first mentioned in 1743. In 1901 the wine press house was built followed by the old distilling house in 1933. In 1982 we – Beate and Gerhard Behl – took over the restaurant and, having redeveloped it completely, turned it into Landgasthof Behl. Our son and heir Florian was born in 1985 and our daughter Lea in 1996.
The purchase of the house in 1992 was followed by the building of the new distillery in the old wine press house. Since this new project was unique worldwide its realisation required considerable time, persuation and approvals. In addition, an old well reaching 10m deep into the rock was found during the construction works and kept visible in the distillery by means of a glass top. The restaurant was refurbished again in 2002.
2006 saw the building of our new hotel annex which provides 40 beds. Each of the individually furnished rooms was designed in the colours of one of the fruits used to burn schnaps and are all dominated by comfort and luxury. Everything was designed with the needs of our guests in mind, whether you are looking for tranquility and relaxation or a location for corporate events and meetings. This required the conversion of our room Dolomit with the terrace Dolomit as well as the gallery and reception.
On completion of the building works Landgasthof Behl had turned into Hotel Brennhaus Behl.
Various awards and distinctions in a number of magazines and hotel and restaurant guides continue to provide us with acknowledgement and encouragement on our way.

We look forward to welcoming you
Family Behl
